American luxury automotive giant joins Formula 1 grid as 11th team, set to race at Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on Jeddah’s iconic Corniche Circuit

Cadillac has officially unveiled its 2026 Formula 1 World Championship car, confirming its long-anticipated entry into the pinnacle of global motorsport.

The move marks a historic milestone for both the brand and the sport. Cadillac becomes the first new team to join the Formula 1 grid in a decade, following Haas F1 Team’s debut in 2016 — a testament to the championship’s surging global growth and commercial appeal. Saudi fans will witness Cadillac’s first competitive appearance at the high-speed Formula 1 stc Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, hosted at the world-renowned Jeddah Corniche Circuit — widely regarded as the fastest street circuit in Formula 1.

A Transformational Year for Formula 1

The 2026 season is set to redefine modern Formula 1. An entirely new generation of cars will be introduced, engineered to deliver closer racing, improved sustainability and enhanced aerodynamic efficiency.

Cadillac joins the grid alongside Audi, which will also make its Formula 1 debut in 2026 — further reinforcing the championship’s expanding global stature and deepening manufacturer involvement.

The season opener in Jeddah is already shaping up to be a defining spectacle. Reigning world champion Lando Norris will defend his title against four-time champion Max Verstappen and rising contender Oscar Piastri, promising a high-stakes battle from the outset. Adding further momentum to the weekend, the F1 Academy championship will return, continuing its mission to spotlight the next generation of female racing talent.

Saudi Arabia’s Growing Role in Global Motorsport

Cadillac’s arrival underscores Saudi Arabia’s growing influence within the Formula 1 ecosystem. Since joining the calendar, the Kingdom has rapidly positioned itself as a key global motorsport destination, blending world-class infrastructure with growing regional fan engagement.

Jeddah’s high-speed circuit — defined by sweeping corners, dramatic night racing and waterfront scenery — has become one of the sport’s most anticipated venues.

With Cadillac’s entry, 2026 is not just another season — it represents a structural evolution of Formula 1. More manufacturers, new regulations and intensifying rivalries signal a championship entering a new commercial and competitive era.

For motorsport enthusiasts across the Middle East, the message is clear: the future of Formula 1 is accelerating — and Jeddah will be at the heart of it.
