A new ultra-luxury development on Saadiyat Island brings the iconic French brand’s crystal heritage and design philosophy into Abu Dhabi’s high-end property market.
Aldar has launched Baccarat Residences Saadiyat, introducing the famed French luxury brand Baccarat to Abu Dhabi’s high-end residential market with a new development in Saadiyat Cultural District. The project connects Baccarat’s long-standing crystal-making heritage with one of the capital’s most culturally significant locations, adding another premium address to Saadiyat Island.
The development consists of 77 homes, including two- and three-bedroom apartments, four-bedroom sky villas and two penthouses. The residences are designed to emphasise natural light, craftsmanship and detail, reflecting the brand’s identity without overwhelming the living spaces. Subtle crystal-inspired elements appear throughout the interiors as a nod to Baccarat’s legacy.
Set between major cultural landmarks and the coastline, the homes look out towards Louvre Abu Dhabi, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi and the Arabian Sea. The location places residents close to beaches, Saadiyat Beach Golf Club and well-known educational institutions such as Cranleigh and NYU Abu Dhabi. The nearby Saadiyat Grove development is also expected to bring a large mix of retail and dining options to the area.
The architecture comes from Sou Fujimoto Architects, marking the firm’s first residential project in the UAE. The design takes cues from the island’s shoreline, with curved forms and flowing lines that echo the surrounding landscape. Two distinct structures rise with a soft, sculptural appearance, aiming to blend the buildings with their environment rather than dominate it.
“Saadiyat Island is fast becoming the cultural centre of luxury living in Abu Dhabi, and projects like Baccarat Residences reflect how design, heritage and location are shaping buyer demand.”
Amenities at the residences are geared towards privacy and comfort. Plans include a residents-only spa and wellness centre, fitness areas, treatment rooms and landscaped outdoor spaces with an infinity pool. Concierge and valet services will be available around the clock, handling everything from dining arrangements to travel requests. Residents will also have access to selected Baccarat brand experiences and design consultation for interior styling.
Interiors have been designed by StudioPCH, a Los Angeles-based studio known for its work in luxury spaces. The design leans on classical influences with a contemporary feel, with buyers able to choose between lighter or darker finish palettes. Some homes will also allow for further customisation.
Jonathan Emery, CEO of Aldar Development, said the project reflects Abu Dhabi’s continued growth as a destination for luxury living, noting that Saadiyat has become a focal point for culture-led development in the emirate. Barry Sternlicht, founder of Baccarat Hotels & Residences, said the brand selects its locations carefully and views Saadiyat as a place where cultural investment and long-term planning support luxury projects. Raul Leal, CEO of Starwood Hotels, added that the residences are aimed at buyers looking for a lifestyle shaped by art, design and heritage.
With museums, beaches and lifestyle destinations all within reach, Baccarat Residences Saadiyat is positioned to attract buyers seeking both exclusivity and cultural surroundings in one of Abu Dhabi’s most prominent districts.
