“When complexity is removed from travel distribution, innovation becomes the new standard for delivering seamless customer journeys.” – TPConnects
TPConnects: Industry-first solution integrates multiple distribution systems and airlines into a single seamless platform
Dubai-based travel technology company TPConnects Technologies has unveiled a major advancement in airline retailing with the launch of its Iris platform, which brings together multiple global distribution systems and airline content into a unified interface for travel sellers.
The platform consolidates access to four major Global Distribution Systems (GDSs) and more than 60 New Distribution Capability (NDC) and low-cost carrier (LCC) airlines, enabling travel agencies and sellers to access a broad spectrum of airline content through a single platform.
This move is seen as a significant step towards simplifying the highly fragmented airline distribution ecosystem, where travel sellers traditionally rely on multiple systems to source fares, manage bookings, and service customers.
Company executives highlighted that Iris has been built to eliminate these complexities by offering a single point of integration. The platform enables users to shop, compare, book, and access airline content without switching between systems, ultimately improving operational efficiency and enhancing the customer experience.
According to TPConnects, the travel industry has long struggled with fragmented content sources, particularly as the adoption of IATA’s NDC standards grows alongside legacy distribution systems. By bringing these together, Iris provides what the company describes as a “normalised and unified content layer” that simplifies airline retailing workflows.
Leadership at TPConnects explained that the platform is designed not just as a content aggregator but as a comprehensive retailing solution, allowing travel sellers to manage the entire booking lifecycle from a single interface. This includes functionalities such as ticketing, order management, changes, cancellations, and ancillary services.
They further noted that the solution reflects the industry’s transition towards modern retail models, where personalisation, flexibility, and real-time access to content are becoming essential. By integrating multiple content sources, Iris enables travel sellers to offer a wider range of options to customers while maintaining competitive pricing and operational agility.
The platform is accessible through both API integration and a web-based portal, making it suitable for a range of users—from large travel management companies with in-house IT teams to smaller agencies seeking a ready-to-use solution.
Officials added that the system is designed for scalability, ensuring it can adapt to evolving airline standards and technological advancements. As more airlines adopt NDC and digital retailing strategies, platforms like Iris are expected to play a critical role in bridging the gap between airlines and travel sellers.
From a commercial perspective, the platform also supports revenue optimisation by enabling travel sellers to access enriched airline content, including ancillary services such as seat selection, baggage options, and fare bundles. This allows agencies to enhance upselling opportunities and deliver more personalised travel experiences.
TPConnects executives emphasised that the goal is to empower travel sellers with greater control, efficiency, and profitability while reducing the technical barriers to integrating multiple airline systems. They pointed out that the platform’s unified architecture helps minimise development costs and simplifies system management.
The launch comes at a time when the global travel industry is undergoing rapid digital transformation, driven by increasing demand for seamless booking experiences and more dynamic pricing models. As airlines continue to evolve their distribution strategies, solutions that can aggregate and standardise content are becoming increasingly valuable.
Industry observers believe that platforms like Iris could redefine how travel content is distributed and consumed, particularly as artificial intelligence and automation begin to play a larger role in travel retailing.
With the introduction of Iris, TPConnects is positioning itself as a key enabler of this transformation, offering a solution that not only simplifies complexity but also unlocks new opportunities for innovation and growth within the travel ecosystem.
