This ambitious initiative opens doors for exceptional Emirati graduates to join the prestigious World Bank Group, reinforcing the United Arab Emirates’ unwavering commitment to nurturing global leaders capable of tackling modern geopolitical and economic challenges.

A Visionary Backing for Future Leaders
Operating under the esteemed patronage of H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs, the Global Talent Initiative has formally announced the opening of its application window. Running from the 26th of June to the 15th of July 2026, the Global Talent Programme seeks to recruit more than 10 outstanding Emirati graduates for a transformative professional journey.
This robust recruitment drive is heavily supported by a coalition of high-profile national entities, including the Office of Development and Martyrs Families Affairs, the UAE Aid Agency, and the ADGM Academy. Furthermore, the initiative is executed in close partnership with several dedicated outreach partners concerned with attracting premier local talent, prominently featuring the Mawaheb Talent Hub, which operates under the Department of Government Enablement, Abu Dhabi.
Driving Global Development and Innovation
At its core, the Global Talent Programme is meticulously designed to empower Emirati graduates to work and learn directly within World Bank Group offices situated around the globe. Selected candidates will embark on a comprehensive two-year tenure, immersing themselves fully in diverse international work environments.
During this period, these young professionals will engage directly in vital global development experiences. They are expected to acquire invaluable, hands-on professional expertise and actively contribute to the implementation of massive projects. The thematic focus areas of their assignments are highly relevant to future global stability, encompassing artificial intelligence, digital development, advanced agriculture, water security, strategic investment, environmental sustainability, macroeconomics, and public policy formulation.
Voices of Leadership
The strategic significance of aligning national talent with the World Bank Group cannot be overstated. Highlighting the broader impact of the Global Talent Programme, His Excellency Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs, articulated the nation’s long-term objectives.
“The launch of the programme represents a strategic initiative that reflects the UAE’s long-term vision of investing in human capital,” His Excellency stated. “Through this programme, we are seeking to create high-quality pathways that enable our young people to gain practical experience within leading international institutions, strengthening the presence of Emirati talent in global financial and economic decision-making centres.”
Echoing this sentiment regarding the empowerment of youth, His Excellency Hamad Sayah Al Mazrouei, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development and Chairman of ADGM Academy, emphasized the developmental benefits.
“This programme underscores our shared commitment to empowering Emirati talent to play an active role contributing to the global development landscape,” Al Mazrouei explained. “It equips future leaders with the skills, expertise, and international perspective required to navigate the increasingly complex international environments.”
Mentorship and Real-World Impact
Beyond simple job placement, the Global Talent Programme guarantees a deeply structured learning ecosystem. Each participant will have the unique opportunity to work alongside seasoned experts and specialists in international development. To ensure their success, graduates will receive continuous guidance and support from a dedicated professional mentor within the World Bank Group. By participating in live development projects, they will gain practical, real-world insight into exactly how sophisticated socio-economic programs are designed, funded, and implemented across different regions of the world.
The Path Forward
Following the rigorous completion of evaluation stages and interviews, more than 10 elite participants will be officially selected to form the program’s inaugural cohort. These pioneering individuals will participate in a comprehensive one-week orientation program this coming September before finally departing for their respective international work locations.
