“Strong industry-government collaboration is the engine that powers innovation, resilience, and sustainable economic growth.”

UAE MoIAT: High-level delegation highlights innovation, local manufacturing strength, and the UAE’s industrial growth vision

The UAE’s Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) has reinforced its commitment to advancing the nation’s industrial sector through a strategic visit to Ducab Group’s high-voltage cable facility in Jebel Ali, highlighting the company’s pivotal role in supporting national infrastructure and economic growth.

The visit provided the delegation with a comprehensive overview of Ducab’s advanced manufacturing capabilities, particularly in the production of high-voltage (HV) cables, which are essential for powering large-scale infrastructure and energy projects across the UAE and beyond.

Officials emphasised that the visit aligns with the UAE’s broader ambition to strengthen its industrial base under national programmes such as the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology and the “Make it in the Emirates” initiative. These frameworks aim to boost local manufacturing, enhance competitiveness, and position the UAE as a global hub for industrial innovation.

During the tour, the delegation explored Ducab’s cutting-edge production processes and technological advancements, gaining insights into how the company continues to deliver high-performance cable solutions that meet international standards. The facility demonstrated the integration of advanced technologies and quality control systems that ensure reliability, efficiency, and durability in critical infrastructure applications.

Senior officials from MoIAT highlighted that companies like Ducab play a vital role in achieving the UAE’s industrial diversification goals. By developing local manufacturing capabilities and fostering innovation, such organisations contribute significantly to reducing reliance on imports while enhancing the country’s global competitiveness.

The delegation also noted that Ducab’s operations reflect the success of the UAE’s industrial ecosystem, where strong collaboration between government entities and private sector players drives sustainable growth. The visit underscored the importance of continued investment in advanced manufacturing technologies to support future infrastructure and energy demands.

Representatives from Ducab emphasised their commitment to supporting the UAE’s development agenda by delivering high-quality solutions for energy, construction, and industrial sectors. They highlighted the company’s role in powering major projects both locally and internationally, reinforcing its position as a key contributor to the region’s infrastructure landscape.

The discussions during the visit focused on exploring opportunities to further enhance industrial collaboration, improve supply chain resilience, and accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies within the manufacturing sector. Officials also examined ways to strengthen local value creation, in line with the UAE’s In-Country Value (ICV) programme, which prioritises domestic economic contributions.

Industry observers note that such engagements play a crucial role in bridging policy and execution, ensuring that national strategies translate into tangible outcomes on the ground. By maintaining close interaction with leading industrial players, the government can better understand sector challenges, identify growth opportunities, and implement targeted support measures.

The visit also highlighted the growing importance of energy infrastructure in supporting economic expansion, particularly as the UAE continues to invest in renewable energy, smart grids, and large-scale development projects. High-voltage cable solutions, such as those produced by Ducab, are critical components in enabling these advancements.

Furthermore, the engagement reflects the UAE’s ongoing efforts to build a future-ready industrial sector, where innovation, sustainability, and technological integration are at the forefront. By encouraging collaboration between public and private stakeholders, the country is creating a dynamic environment that supports long-term economic resilience.

Looking ahead, MoIAT reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with industry leaders to enhance manufacturing capabilities, attract investment, and drive industrial transformation. Initiatives like this visit are expected to continue playing a key role in shaping the UAE’s industrial landscape.

As the UAE advances its vision of becoming a global leader in advanced industries, the collaboration between MoIAT and companies like Ducab underscores a shared commitment to innovation, excellence, and sustainable growth.
