The world of regional sports celebrates a prestigious milestone as the Cedars Golf Championship returns to the UAE for its eagerly awaited second edition. Taking place at the scenic Al Zorah Golf Club in Ajman from 2nd to 4th October 2026, the high-profile tournament promises to deliver three days of world-class amateur competition.
Jointly organized by the Lebanese Golf Federation in close partnership with the Emirates Golf Federation, the event highlights an enduring bond between the two sports bodies and their shared ambition to nurture regional talent on an international stage.

Elite 54-Hole Challenge on the Global Ranking Stage
Contested over 54 holes of individual stroke play, the Cedars Golf Championship offers elite competitors a rare and valuable proving ground. The tournament is officially sanctioned under the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), ensuring that participants have a legitimate pathway to accumulate points and elevate their standing in world amateur golf.
Beyond global ranking points, the tournament provides a career-defining incentive for the top male competitor. The player securing the best overall score in the men’s division will earn an exclusive entry into a HotelPlanner Tour event held in the UAE across the 2026 or 2027 season. Additional honours, including gross and net prizes, will recognize outstanding performances across both men’s and women’s divisions, driving fierce yet supportive competition among emerging athletes.
Deepening Arab Alliances and Regional Integration
The staging of this tournament in Ajman underscores a broader strategic vision pursued by regional sporting bodies. By pooling resources and expertise, the Lebanese Golf Federation and the Emirates Golf Federation are establishing sustainable frameworks that allow Arab golfers to train, compete, and excel under elite tournament conditions.
Retired Major General Staff Pilot Abdullah Al Sayed Al Hashmi, President of the Emirates Golf Federation, underscored the profound camaraderie and collaborative spirit behind the event’s return:
“We are delighted to welcome our brothers from the Lebanese Golf Federation and pleased to host the Cedars Golf Championship once again in the UAE following the success of its inaugural edition.”
Major General Al Hashmi further emphasized that the Federation is dedicating all required organisational, logistical, and technical capabilities to ensure that the competition runs at peak international standards throughout its run in Ajman.

Expanding the Emirates’ Dynamic Sporting Calendar
The championship aligns directly with the Emirates Golf Federation’s ongoing initiatives to broaden the national sports calendar, attract top-tier international participants, and forge deeper cooperative ties with fellow Arab and Gulf federations.
Detailing the broader strategic value of hosting the competition, Major General Al Hashmi added:
“The tournament provides an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with Arab and Gulf federations, exchange expertise and give players greater opportunities to compete and develop. Hosting the event supports efforts to expand the UAE’s tournament calendar, attract greater international participation and strengthen the presence of Arab golf on the international stage.”
Setting New Benchmarks at Al Zorah
Building upon the momentum of its debut run, the second edition of the Cedars Golf Championship demonstrates how modern infrastructure and cross-border cooperation can transform the regional sports ecosystem. With the pristine fairways of Ajman ready to welcome the region’s best players, the tournament stands as a beacon for the future of Arab golf.
