At the heart of this initiative is a shared commitment to profoundly improving the living conditions of vulnerable populations. Under the newly signed agreement, both entities will meticulously coordinate a series of community and humanitarian initiatives. These targeted programs are specifically engineered to expand empowerment opportunities for refugee women, offering them a pathway to stability and self-sufficiency. Furthermore, the collaboration aims to bolster the UAE government’s ongoing efforts to foster deep social responsibility. Through joint awareness campaigns, specialized events, and educational programs, the Sheikha Fatima Fund and AD Ports Group intend to bring the pressing issues affecting refugee women to the forefront of the global conversation.

The formal signing ceremony brought together key figures from both organizations, featuring Ahmed Sari Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), and Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of AD Ports Group. A crucial component of this partnership leverages the core competencies of the maritime and logistics giant. AD Ports Group has committed to providing extensive logistical support for the international projects spearheaded by the Sheikha Fatima Fund.

This crucial backing includes advanced maritime services, the rapid transportation of essential relief supplies, and robust supply chain optimization to drastically accelerate the delivery of life-saving humanitarian assistance. Beyond moving physical goods, the agreement encompasses technical and advisory support to develop joint training programs, alongside dedicated efforts to secure viable employment opportunities for refugee women.

The leadership behind this initiative emphasizes its deeply transformative potential. Dr. Maitha Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State and Chairperson of the Supreme Committee of the Sheikha Fatima Fund for Women Refugees, provided crucial insights into the strategic direction of the initiative. Speaking to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), she stated that the agreement strictly follows the noble directives of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the “Mother of the Nation”.

Dr. Al Shamsi noted that the partnership with AD Ports Group will widen local and international support systems, helping refugee women overcome economic hardships within under-resourced host communities. She proudly added to WAM that the initiative inherently aligns with the UAE’s broader foreign policy objectives to significantly enhance protection and care for refugees globally.

Reinforcing the scale of this vital mission, Ahmed Sari Al Mazrouei told WAM that the fund stands as one of the UAE’s leading humanitarian initiatives supporting refugees worldwide, particularly women and children, adding that the agreement opens entirely new avenues for leveraging logistical capabilities and institutional expertise to serve critical humanitarian causes. Sharing this vision of impactful collaboration, Captain Mohamed Al Shamisi detailed his organization’s dedication to the cause.

He noted to WAM that the partnership reinforces AD Ports Group‘s steadfast commitment to supporting the UAE’s humanitarian efforts globally and helping refugee women build more stable and dignified lives. He further explained that the agreement perfectly reflects the critical importance of strategic partnerships between powerful national institutions in delivering a genuinely meaningful humanitarian impact and supporting the world’s most vulnerable communities.

Ultimately, this synergy between a leading philanthropic entity and a global trade facilitator sets a new benchmark for how national institutions can pool their resources for the greater good. By guaranteeing that vital supplies reach those who need them most, while simultaneously building frameworks for long-term career development and social integration, the Sheikha Fatima Fund and AD Ports Group are actively changing the narrative for displaced populations. Their unified front guarantees that the resilience and potential of refugee women will not go unnoticed, ensuring they receive the absolute highest standard of care, respect, and opportunity as they rebuild their futures.
