Abu Dhabi, UAE: Yas Waterworld, Yas Island, is set to unveil a major expansion on April 4, 2026, introducing 11 https://www.yaswaterworld.com/new slides and attractions that will significantly enhance the waterpark’s offering and reinforce its position as one of the region’s leading entertainment destinations.
The expansion, developed by Miral, marks the next phase of the park’s evolving “Lost City” theme, building on the narrative of The Legend of the Lost Pearl, which is deeply rooted in Emirati heritage.
With the addition of the new attractions, Yas Waterworld will now offer more than 70 rides, slides and experiences, providing visitors with a broader mix of adrenaline-filled adventures and family-friendly activities.
Among the highlights of the expansion is Matamir’s Drop, set to become the tallest waterslide in the UAE, featuring a dramatic plunge from over 40 metres and a slide run extending approximately 233 metres. The attraction is designed to deliver a high-intensity experience for thrill seekers looking for a freefall sensation combined with speed and excitement.
The expansion also introduces a variety of other rides designed to cater to different thrill levels. Sahel Matamir, a freefall tube racer, offers bursts of speed and moments of near weightlessness, while Matamir Loop delivers rapid descents through a high-speed body slide experience.
For guests seeking visually immersive rides, Matamir Twist combines fast-paced movement with lighting effects, creating a dynamic environment that enhances the ride experience. Meanwhile, Matamir Splash offers a competitive element, allowing visitors to race side-by-side in a duelling mat slide format.
Beyond high-adrenaline attractions, the expansion also introduces more relaxed and family-oriented experiences. A new leisure pool, Sarab, provides a space for visitors to unwind, while Al Afda, a jumping platform attraction, adds a playful and interactive element for adventurous guests.

He noted that the addition of new attractions is aimed at delivering fresh thrills and immersive experiences for visitors of all ages, while supporting Abu Dhabi’s broader ambition to position itself as a global tourism hub.
