The Dubai-based carrier confirmed on Wednesday that it is committing more than Dhs50m ($13.6m) to completely redesign each signature premium lounge across its extensive global network. This ambitious initiative aims to fundamentally transform how high-value passengers begin their journeys, ensuring that the luxury experienced in the air is perfectly mirrored on the ground.
The highly anticipated new lounge concept has already made a stunning debut in Munich and Frankfurt. With an aggressive rollout schedule mapped out for the remainder of the year, additional cutting-edge openings are planned for Manchester in July, Mauritius in August, and Istanbul in October. These meticulously crafted spaces will serve as the ultimate blueprint for future Emirates facilities worldwide, establishing a unified, sophisticated aesthetic for international travelers across all major continents.

As international travel demand continues its robust recovery, airlines are increasingly competing to capture high-value passengers beyond just the onboard cabin experience. The ground product has become a critical differentiator, and Emirates is leveraging its new design philosophy to stay firmly ahead of the curve.
The redesigned spaces draw heavy inspiration from the elegant palette of the airline’s latest aircraft cabin interiors. Passengers will immediately notice muted, calming colors complemented by luxurious marble finishes, brushed-gold accents, and the beautifully illuminated Ghaf Tree motif, a subtle yet proud nod to the national tree of the UAE. The layout has been completely reimagined to better reflect how modern travelers actually utilize these spaces, incorporating more than 50 distinct design enhancements.

Culinary Excellence and Wellness Focus
Food and beverage offerings have always been a cornerstone of the Emirates premium experience, but this new lounge concept elevates dining to culinary theater. Instead of relying solely on traditional buffets, the spaces now feature vibrant live cooking stations where highly trained chefs prepare à la minute dishes. A dedicated “Made In” section will spotlight the absolute best of regional cuisine, ensuring a localized touch at every destination.
The beverage experience has also received a spectacular upgrade. A brand-new bar concept introduces dedicated barista stations serving specialty coffees and artisan teas, while expert mixologists prepare bespoke cocktails and mocktails inspired by the host city.
Wellness has also taken center stage. Recognizing that modern premium travelers seek more than just comfortable seating, Emirates has significantly enhanced its pre-flight relaxation amenities. The newly upgraded shower suites feature spa-inspired interiors, allowing guests to freshen up in absolute luxury.
Balancing Productivity with Relaxation
To accommodate the diverse needs of business and leisure travelers alike, the new lounge environments are cleverly zoned. Business travelers will appreciate the integration of technology-enabled workstations, featuring Italian eco-leather seating, wireless charging capabilities, and universal power outlets for uninterrupted productivity.
Conversely, for passengers facing longer layovers, the meticulously designed Quiet Zones provide an oasis of calm. These areas feature plush seating and soft, ambient lighting to help guests recharge before their flight. Furthermore, the facilities have been expanded to include private meeting rooms, dedicated breastfeeding areas, and separate male and female prayer rooms, complete with integrated ablution facilities.
Currently, the carrier operates 42 dedicated airport lounges worldwide, including eight massive facilities at its Dubai International Airport hub and 34 across major global gateways. With complimentary access granted to First Class and Business Class passengers, as well as eligible Skywards Platinum and Gold members, this exceptional multi-million-dirham investment ensures that the Emirates premium lounge remains the undisputed gold standard in global aviation hospitality.
