In a phenomenal demonstration of its growing European footprint, flydubai has significantly expanded its direct operations connecting Dubai and Naples, alongside a massive increase in its frequencies to Northern Italy. Responding to the robust, year-round demand for seamless travel between the United Arab Emirates and the Mediterranean, the Dubai-based carrier is set to elevate its highly popular Milan-Bergamo route to a double-daily operation starting July 31, 2026. This strategic expansion further cements the airline’s critical role in bridging the Middle East with Europe’s most vibrant commercial and cultural hubs.

Seamless Transitions During Airport Maintenance
As part of this comprehensive network update, passengers traveling between Dubai and Naples will experience a temporary but highly seamless operational shift this autumn. Due to extensive, scheduled maintenance works taking place at Naples International Airport (NAP), flydubai will temporarily redirect its daily flights from Dubai International (DXB) to the newly utilized Salerno Costa d’Amalfi and Cilento Airport (QSR).
This temporary routing will be in effect exclusively from November 1 to November 30, 2026. Normal services directly into Naples International Airport (NAP) will officially resume on December 1. To ensure absolute convenience, all passengers holding existing bookings to Naples during the maintenance period will be automatically rebooked onto the new Salerno flights. This proactive measure ensures that vital travel plans, holiday itineraries, and commercial cargo movements continue entirely without disruption.
By utilizing Salerno as a highly effective alternative gateway, flydubai is reinforcing Dubai’s undisputed status as a resilient, globally connected hub for travel, trade, and international tourism.

A Robust Italian Flight Roster
With these highly anticipated frequency increases, flydubai now boasts one of the most robust and versatile Italian flight rosters originating from the Gulf. The carrier will proudly serve Italy with a newly upgraded double-daily frequency to Milan-Bergamo, consistent daily flights to the Naples region, and thrice-weekly services to Catania. Additionally, the airline continues to operate its highly successful seasonal summer flights to Olbia, which will run twice weekly until the end of August.
Highlighting the strategic importance of this European expansion, Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at flydubai, stated:
“Naples and Milan have become key gateways into our Italian network. Our priority is to ensure customers continue to enjoy convenient access to the region, in line with our long-term commitment to strengthening connectivity to underserved destinations and supporting the continued flow of trade, tourism and people between the UAE and Italy, particularly as travel demand increases during the winter season.”
Jeyhun Efendi, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at the airline, further emphasized the commercial weight of the Italian market:
“Our commitment to further strengthening our direct services to Naples and Milan-Bergamo underscores the importance of the Italian market and our commitment to offering customers seamless, non-stop access to key destinations across Italy and beyond.”
The Power of the Emirates Codeshare
Both the Naples and Milan-Bergamo services operate under the highly successful, long-standing flydubai and Emirates codeshare partnership. This alliance offers international passengers the ultimate convenience of streamlined, multi-city itineraries, highly efficient single-ticket bookings, and the ease of through-checked baggage across vast global networks.

This Italian expansion perfectly complements flydubai‘s aggressive global growth strategy. The airline recently launched high-profile services to Aleppo in Syria, Bangkok in Thailand, and Benghazi in Libya, with direct flights to Pokhara in Nepal scheduled to commence on September 23. As the carrier aggressively targets underserved markets, its enhanced operations between Dubai and Italy stand as a brilliant testament to its commitment to unparalleled global connectivity.
