“Resilient infrastructure and strong public-private collaboration are shaping Sharjah’s industrial future.” – Sharjah Chamber

Sharjah Chambers: Industry leaders and government officials align strategies to strengthen competitiveness and long-term growth

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry has reinforced its commitment to strengthening the resilience and sustainability of industrial facilities across the emirate, following high-level discussions with representatives from the Industries Sector Business Group.

The meeting brought together senior officials, industry leaders, and key stakeholders to assess Sharjah’s industrial sector, focusing on operational performance, emerging trends, and the evolving challenges businesses face. The discussions underscored the importance of coordinated efforts between the public and private sectors to ensure sustainable industrial growth and long-term competitiveness.

Chaired by Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, and attended by senior officials, including Director-General Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, the session highlighted the Chamber’s ongoing efforts to provide integrated services that support business expansion and sector development. The initiative reflects a broader strategy to enhance efficiency, drive innovation, and enable companies to adapt to shifting market conditions.

Participants reviewed key operational developments in Sharjah’s industrial ecosystem, identifying opportunities and constraints affecting manufacturing and production. The dialogue focused on aligning industrial performance with global economic trends, while also enhancing productivity, sustainability, and market competitiveness at both regional and international levels.

A central theme of the meeting was the resilience of Sharjah’s business environment, which continues to serve as a critical foundation for industrial growth. Industry representatives emphasised that the emirate’s ability to respond effectively to economic changes is supported by a robust infrastructure, a diversified economy, and strong institutional coordination.

Discussions also highlighted the UAE’s strategic efforts to strengthen supply chain sustainability and efficiency. Participants noted that the country’s advanced logistics framework, including its extensive network of land and maritime gateways, plays a vital role in maintaining industrial continuity and facilitating trade flows. This integrated system provides businesses with greater flexibility in sourcing, production, and export operations, enabling them to meet the demands of both local and global markets.

Abdallah Sultan Al Owais stated that the Sharjah Chamber continues to act as a vital bridge between the private sector and government entities, reinforcing collaboration through innovative and flexible initiatives. He explained that these efforts are designed to enhance businesses’ adaptability while supporting sustainable economic growth.

He further noted that Sharjah’s industrial sector benefits from a combination of modern infrastructure, strategic geographic positioning, and a resilient economic framework, which collectively enable companies to expand their operations and strengthen their competitive edge across multiple markets.

Members of the Industries Sector Business Group commended the Chamber’s proactive engagement, describing the meeting as a clear demonstration of its commitment to supporting industrial stakeholders. They stressed that maintaining open communication channels with industry representatives is essential for identifying operational challenges and developing targeted solutions that drive efficiency and innovation.

The session also highlighted the importance of fostering collaboration across sectors to address emerging industrial requirements and improve overall performance. By encouraging dialogue between stakeholders, the Chamber aims to create a more responsive and dynamic business environment capable of sustaining long-term growth.

Sharjah’s industrial sector continues to play a significant role in the emirate’s economic development, supported by policies that prioritise innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness. The latest discussions reaffirm the Sharjah Chamber’s strategic focus on empowering businesses and ensuring that industrial facilities remain resilient amid evolving economic dynamics.

As the UAE advances its broader economic diversification agenda, initiatives led by the Sharjah Chamber are expected to significantly strengthen industrial capabilities and position the emirate as a key hub for manufacturing and trade in the region.
